Theo Walcott v Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Searching around it didn't take too long to find an able video that compares the talents of Theo Walcott against Arsenal's latest multi-million pound recruit from Southampton. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has cost Arsenal a reported £15m in total; a quite remarkable spend on a 17 year old who has yet to play at the highest level in professional Football.

Despite this signing it remains clear that Arsenal fans are beyond frustrated wit Wenger given his lack of transfer activity in any meaningful quantity this summer. The imminent departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri will only add to this frustration, but I digress!

This Video gives you a little taste of what you can expect from the England Under 21 signing. Perhaps more importantly it shows us what he brings to the table that may differ from Theo Walcott! Well, both players have pace and both have made the move from Southampton to Arsenal...and that is where the similarities end! Check it out! How do you think the players differ given their similar past?

  1. Hilarious, typical arsenal buy, he's looks dangerous but do they need another small fast player with good feet? NO! 15m as well, hahaha its laughable. They need a strong centre back and another strong striker who can bring others into play. Why clubs are willing to pay so much for cash for young 'English Talent' is beyond me. For me a good player is a good player - I'm sure if this kid was mexican he would cost 5 - 7 mil!

  2. Definitely agree with that! I don't see that in order to push on Arsene Wenger can continue with the production line system at Arsenal. I think their are a number of players that fit Oxlade-Chamberlains profile so I don'e see this as a significant signing at all!

Are you an Arsenal fan? Who would you like to see come in before the window ends, given that Fabregas and Nasri are almost certain to leave>
